Reading Museum Visit – 9th March 2022
As part of our topic about Victorian Britain and the Industrial Revolution, we are proposing a visit to Reading Museum which will link in with our topic about the Victorians and the Industrial Revolution. The museum runs workshops which support the curriculum in a fun and engaging way.
There is a voluntary contribution of £13.30 per child which includes transport by coach, a workshop and time to explore the museum. In order for this visit to take place, we kindly request that payment is made by 14th January 2022 – preferably by Parentmail. Children will not require any spending money. There is flexibility to pay in smaller instalments online.
If there are insufficient funds received to cover the cost of this visit, it will have to be cancelled and all payments will be returned. We will need to make this decision quite soon so please ensure all payments are made before this time. If you are unable to make payment online, please return cash/cheque in a sealed envelope clearly marked with your child’s name and the amount.
The children will need to wear full school uniform and will require a packed lunch - no nuts or fizzy drinks please.
We require DBS checked volunteers to assist us during the trip as we will be in smaller groups. Please let your child’s class teacher or the main school office know if you or another family member are available to volunteer.
Please complete the attached permission slip and medical consent form which should be returned to the main school office no later than 14th January 2022.

Years 3, 4 & 6 - Visit to Cineworld Bracknell
The pupils in Year 3, 4 and 6 have been invited to take part in a National Film Festival organised by Into Film at Bracknell Cineworld during the morning of 10th November 2021. The performance of “Boss Baby 2” which is rated PG will begin at 10:00 am and will end by 12:30 pm. We will be walking to the cinema and plan to leave Sandy Lane School at 9:15 am. Please ensure your child wears normal school uniform and has a waterproof coat and appropriate footwear.
The Into Film Festival vision is run in order to put film at the heart of children and young people's learning, contributing to their cultural, creative and personal development. This trip is completely free of charge and a wonderful opportunity for children to enjoy sound in a cinematic experience which will support their Enquiry learning this term.
As we will return to school during the lunch period, we ask that all children bring a packed lunch to school on this day which we will eat on our return.
If your child is entitled to a free school meal please select an option on the consent form. Packed lunches from school must be ordered in advance and will be unavailable to order on the day.
If you do not wish your child to attend the cinema, please inform the office staff as soon as possible. Please return the attached consent form no later than 20th October 2021.
We require additional parental support to accompany us on the trip. Please let your class teacher know if you are able to assist.
Thank you for your continued support.
